WSMV ran a report last night about the grassroots effort to decrease speed on our neighborhood roads.
You can read the whole story here: http://www.wsmv.com/news/16396646/detail.html
There is a pretty vibrant group of folks talking and working together to address issues of speed, traffic, and safety for cyclists and walkers in the neighborhood. They've designed the signs and are working on finding the funding for their initial printing, with the hope that they can get them out in the neighborhood this summer.
If you're interested in joining the conversation, email Catherine at mctamaney@comcast.net. If you'd like to contribute to funding the signs, please email Catherine that as well. Rediscover East has partnered with the production... once they're printed, they'll be available for purchase at local businesses and through the neighborhood associations. The proceeds will go back to RE! and will help fund other traffic calming projects.
