Eastwood Neighbors Block Party Benefit - Oct 12

Eastwood Neighbors Block Party Benefit October 12 Noon – 4 p.m.

Henry and Heather Roach moved to Eastwood in October 2007. On August 13, 2008, Henry was in a motorcycle accident near Carthage, TN. Initially he was at Vanderbilt’s Trauma Unit for his closed head injury and broken shoulder. He since has been moved to a specialty hospital on Baptist Hospital’s campus. Henry remains in a coma, although he is beginning to open his eyes and respond, especially to Heather’s voice.

Heather is trying to get Henry admitted to a better specialty hospital that specializes in intensive therapy for head trauma patients. It is very critical that head injury patients receive rehab within the first few weeks after the swelling has gone down. Even though they have insurance, it doesn’t come close to covering the magnitude of expenses that are mounting.

Heather is a school teacher in Cookeville, however she has been by Henry’s side since August 13. She is battling the insurance company to try to get Henry the best available therapy. Your neighbors on Roberts Avenue will be hosting a block party to help.

Come enjoy hot dogs and refreshments at 1426 Roberts Avenue and neighboring homes on October 12 from 12:00 p.m. – 4 p.m.

Your donation of any amount, small or great, is appreciated. Any help or ideas will also be greatly appreciated. Contact for the block party is Emily Benedict [of Roberts Ave] at emilybenedict@officemax.com.
