East Nashville Art Stroll

Join us on Saturday, February 27, 2010 for the kickoff of this year’s East Nashville Art Stroll. We were snowed out in January, so we think this Stroll should be twice as good!
Several East Nashville Galleries and small businesses have banded together to create this fun evening celebrating the arts. This is an ongoing endeavor to feature visual and performing artists every month.
HOURS: 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. (Check individual galleries for different or expanded hours.)

THE GALLERIES:

A group show of over 50 artists featuring smaller works of art and handmade artisans wares. The latest work by local favorites are represented, along with many new artists. (Paintings, prints, jewelry, pottery, glasswork, furniture, lighting fixtures, fiber art, etc…)

Bongo Java will be featuring the photography of local artist Craig Brabson.

Concepts in Concrete is launching their RE-Grand Opening during the February Art Stroll.

Featuring art by Nashville native, Maggie France. Maggie is a senior at Middle Tennessee State University. Although her major is in Studio Art, with a concentration in painting, she enjoys working with clay, pastels, charcoals, trash art, book and jewelry making and any combination of those mediums.
Stop by with your favorite vinyl, we'll be playing records from 6-9!

Featuring the artwork of Antwan Hamilton of Artificer, and painter Lloyd Bruce Tucker.

One of the many new and young talented art groups that’s emerged on the scene is a group of artists known as Artificer. The group consists of Antwan Hamilton and brothers Christopher, and Tylor Trobaugh. Together this band of three can create almost any form of artwork, ranging from murals, photography, painting and the ever-popular big Leggo chains.
The Artificer artists are becoming known throughout the city for their hip n’ cool art shows and art parties.

Open Lot is a community of artists, designers, and innovators with a dedicated venue and studio space in historic east Nashville. Rumours East will feature a show of contemporary photography by artist Barbara Pupak, and paintings by Nashville artist Martica Griffin. Nashville artist Martica Griffin was commissioned to create wine paintings for the restaurant combining acrylics with other graphic media including crayon.”

Art stroll goers are encouraged to walk through to view the art, or view the art and then relax for a bit in our bar, or stay for dinner.

Studio 83 will be hosting a reception for "Chrysalis” a group show featuring artists Miranda Herrick, Mary Sue Kern, and Ginger Oglesby

Mary Sue Kern: A sculptor of volume, Ms. Kern uses books as her canvass, often embellishing her pieces with metalwork and found objects.

Miranda Herrick: Studio 83 is also proud to continue the showing of the next 100 pieces in the "Works and Days" series by Miranda Herrick. Ms. Herrick has completed 365 singular pieces (one a day for a full year!) of amazing, fractal, designs, which then again are displayed in a larger design creating one from many.

Ginger Oglesby: will have her premier showing with Studio 83 East this month. Her expressive oil paintings will be on display with the others in this show.

Studio 83 is an art space featuring fine contemporary arts and crafts, with instructional classes and is dedicated to promoting the best of local and regional talent.
