Smile, Mommy! Diaper Service Celebrates Fifth Birthday; Free Cloth Diapering Workshops Held the 4th Tuesday Of Each Month at Green Wagon East (Next one is Tuesday, July 24th)
July 5, 2012 was Smile, Mommy! Diaper Service’s fifth birthday. Smile, Mommy! is Nashville’s premier diaper service, delivering 100% cotton diapers to customers’ doors each week in Davidson and Williamson counties. In its first year under new ownership, Smile, Mommy! cloth diapered 112 new babies. This is a sign that the use of cloth diapers is becoming more widespread. According to the Real Diaper Industry Association, a survey showed a strong increase in cloth diaper sales in North America. In the past few years, the trend of using cloth diapers has grown over 30%.
Owner, Kelly Bacher, is glad she can contribute to the sustainability movement. "There is a demand for better choices for parents in Nashville. A cloth diaper service makes it easy for parents to make a good decision. When they use Smile, Mommy!, they are helping our planet and keeping their baby safer too."
The local diaper service includes an air-tight diaper pail, pail liners, 100% cotton pre-fold diapers, a Snappi (the anti-diaper pin), waterproof covers, cotton flannel wipes, and weekly delivery/laundry.

- In April, Smmle, Mommy! led the effort to host Great Cloth Diaper Change Nashville to contribute to breaking the Guinness Book world record for the most cloth diapers changed simultaneously throughout the world. 8,251 babies’ diapers were changed that day.
- Smile, Mommy! was also present at the Earth Day festival educating Nashvillians about the benefits of cloth diapers for the earth.
- The Baptist Baby Fair was a success for Smile, Mommy!. Hundreds of expecting parents were educated about cloth diapers and the ease of using a diaper service.
