Citizen's Policy Academy - Application deadline May 18th

Citizen Police Academy

Available to citizens who reside or are employed in Davidson County *

Relatives of Metro Nashville Police Officers are not eligible
Two members of the same family may not attend at the same time
Persons seeking employment as an officer are not eligible
Each applicant should commit to attending at least 10 of the twelve sessions, be at least 21 years old and have no arrest record, excluding minor traffic violations.

The application deadline for Session 20 is May 18, 2007.

The Metropolitan Police Department's Citizen Police Academy will soon begin its 20th session and cordially invites Nashvillians interested in better understanding their police department to apply for the twelve-week course that begins May 29, 2007.

Participants in the Citizen Police Academy will learn about the intricacies of police work through the perspective of a variety of guest speakers, including members of the police department's various specialized components.

Session begins - May 29, 2007

Classes begin promptly at 6:00 PM and conclude at 9:00 PM in the community room of the Hermitage Precinct, 3701 James Kay Lane, Hermitage, Tennessee.

Electives - The program offers four electives that are available to participants of this session

Ride Along with A Police Officer
Emergency Communications Tour (911 Center)
Be a Guest in Judge Ruben’s Court
Basic Firearm Instruction
Applications can be completed and submitted on the Internet using the form below. Applications can also be picked up at any one of the police department's six precinct stations. Persons desiring an application by mail or fax can call 862-7811.
