Tues, Aug 2 - East Nashville Night Out Against Crime

EAST NASHVILLE NIGHT OUT AGAINST CRIME
TUESDAY, AUGUST 2, 2011, 5:00 PM

East Nashville has planned a free, fun-filled and informative event to celebrate "National Night Out" on August 2, 2011.

From
5:00 pm to 9:00 pm, neighbors will gather on the lawn at Eastwood Christian Church, 1601 Eastland Avenue, Nashville, TN 37206 to hang out, enjoy free food, live music, and put a positive face on East Nashville.

National Night Out is designed to heighten crime prevention awareness, strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships, and send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.

"The first 300 attendees to visit the welcome booth will return home with goody bags filled with crime prevention and safety tips, Smart 9-1-1 information, and a contact sheet explaining how to reach various Metro departments," says Gracie Vandiver, co-chair of Eastwood Neighbors' Crime and Safety Committee.

At the welcome booth, "prize drawing cards" will also be available to the first 300 visitors. Visit sponsor and informational booths, collect at least ten signatures from booth representatives, turn in your signed card, and be entered for a prize drawing! Among the prizes are gift cards from Watanabe Sushi & Asian Cuisine, Silly Goose, Wild Cow, Rosepepper, Wags & Whiskers Self-Serve Dog Wash, Calypso Cafe, the Green Wagon, Pied Piper Creamery, and social media coaching from Mother Knows Best Media!
