The Martha O'Bryan Center is conducting surveys over the weekends of March 16-18 and March 23-25 for the Promise Neighborhood Program that is focusing on the neighborhoods that are part of the Stratford cluster.
We have two requests:
(1) Volunteer to accompany a survey conductor. Eastwood neighbors are strongly encouraged to volunteer to accompany the trained survey conductors when they visit homes in our neighborhood. Volunteers will walk with trained staff to provide support. You will be able to pass out little gifts to the children you meet during the door-to-door survey and be provided with food, drinks and a t-shirt to wear in the community. Volunteering for even one of the shifts below will be a tremendous help.
Friday 12:00p.m. - 4:30p.m.;
Saturday 9:00a.m. - 12:30p.m. & 1:30p.m. - 5:00p.m.;
Sunday 12:00p.m. - 4:30p.m.
Contact Katherine Avery at (615) 254-1791 ext. 124 to sign up for a shift.
(2) Please answer the door if the survey team visits your home. The information that you provide is crucial to planning stages for future activities.
Additional information about the Promise Neighborhood program is listed below. Thank you again for helping to make Eastwood a Vibrant Neighborhood!

Good afternoon,
The Martha O'Bryan Center was one of 15 organizations nationally to be awarded a Promise Neighborhood planning grant for 2012. Martha O'Bryan is leading a collaborative effort to create the Nashville Promise Neighborhood (NPN) to foster academic success for all children through the development of excellent schools, healthy families and vibrant neighborhoods, in East Nashville.
Paramount to this work is the gathering of information about our communities. Therefore, The Nashville Promise Neighborhood is launching a community-wide, door-to-door survey of 500 homes in the Stratford cluster (East Nashville community) this March. The survey is designed to answer a variety of questions about neighborhoods and families that will inform our planning for the Promise Neighborhood.
We need your help!
Volunteer Information:
We are developing survey teams to accomplish this big task. Teams will consist of a trained enumerator (a person who knows how to give the survey and completes the required training) and a volunteer. Volunteers are not required to attend any training.
*If you are available, please let me know.*
Thanks everyone. I hope to hear from many of you and look forward to this exciting event.
Best wishes,
Katherine
